Comb Plates

Cover plates located at floor level of an escalator within the balustrade line at both the upper and lower head. The comb teeth are fastened to this plate at one end. The opposite end butts against the landing plate. The comb plate is normally designed to raise slightly, actuating a safety stop switch if a wedging action occurs between the comb teeth and the steps.
