Rating System
ThyssenKrupp Elevator is committed to helping our customers navigate the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™. While much of the rating system cannot be directly tied to elevators it is still important to have the support of your vertical transportation supplier when addressing LEED questions. To that end, ThyssenKrupp now has a full time LEED Accredited Professional on staff to offer assistance with green building questions or concerns. We are proud members of the U.S. Green Building Council, encourage and foster employee membership in local USGBC chapters and actively exhibit at GreenBuild.
We at ThyssenKrupp Elevator see green building as the future. And the best way to prepare for the future is through education. Through a series of interactive group workshops, the entire ThyssenKrupp Elevator new construction sales force across the United States has been educated on the LEED rating system as it relates to our products. Through initiatives like this, we are able to send employees into the field capable and ready to navigate the green marketplace and offer guidance to our customers. Another internal educational effort is a monthly sustainability eNewsletter that goes to the entire ThyssenKrupp Elevator America Business Unit employee base. These informational newsletters keep all levels of employees informed on sustainable actions throughout the company as well as answering frequently asked questions about LEED topics or other green building issues.
