Corporate Social Responsibility

ThyssenKrupp's pledge to Corporate Social Responsibility means that we will consider the interest of the communities in which we operate by taking responsibility for the impact of our business decisions on these communities, our customers, employees, the riding public and the environment.

In an effort to begin our journey towards being a more sustainable company, we at ThyssenKrupp Elevator felt that examining our business from a corporate social responsibility aspect at all levels was the best way to start.

To that end, we engaged with a leading sustainability consulting firm to help us conduct a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) gap assessment. This assessment involved benchmarking our current activities from a CSR perspective through both internal and external reviews of our current operations. The reviews involved examining all available information through a lens focused on our activities relating to social, financial, environmental and governance issues.

Internal interviews with employees from all parts of the company were conducted to glean an understanding of their current perspectives. The interviews allowed us to better understand areas for continued improvement as well as areas in which we exceeded expectations.

The interviews and external review have allowed us to create a benchmark for use in setting future goals for year-over-year improvements and future corporate social responsibility and sustainability public reporting.
