This page includes just a few examples of community-based efforts made by ThyssenKrupp employees and offices throughout the Americas. It is through partnerships and programs like these that we are able to actively engage in the communities and industries in which we operate.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator's U.S. Offices Donate Denim to Cotton, Incorporated's from Blue to Green® Project

As part of the 12th annual America Recycles Day on November 15th, ThyssenKrupp joined the efforts of Cotton, Inc, in conjunction with several universities and Vanity retail stores nationwide to collect denim to recycle for use as green insulation. Cotton insulation is made from natural fibers, is non-toxic, has no formaldehyde off-gassing issues, and offers extremely high Noise Reduction Coefficient which effectively reduces airborne sound transmission by as much as 10%. Through the team efforts of many local offices, ThyssenKrupp collected 1,128 denim items for recycling! Southwest Regional Senior Management Habitat for Humanity Report

In February of 2009 the Southwest regional senior management team and their spouses worked together to help a local family in need build a home for their future. Full Article

Brazillian Business Unit Releases Annual Social Report

As part of the Americas Business Unit, Brazil represents approximately 500 offices across 22 Brazilian states. The culmination of the social and environmental work from 2007 and 2008 is included in a Social Report published in February 2009. Full Article

ThyssenKrupp Employees Contribute to Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation

ThyssenKrupp Elevator is a proud contributor to the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF). Through a simply payroll deduction campaign, ThyssenKrupp employees are able to contribute to the foundation. Full Article
